Place des Arts is a stunning multi-use arts facility situated in Heritage Square in the heart of Coquitlam’s historic Maillardville neighbourhood. Located only 25 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Place des Arts boasts a variety of unique rental spaces that include: Leonore Peyton Salon, Atrium, Renaissance Room, dance studio, four multi-purpose classrooms and nine music studios.
The centre provides an ideal setting to hold a wide range of events including meetings, award ceremonies, corporate functions, workshops, recitals, festivals and performances. Reduced rates are available for non-profit groups.

Leonore Peyton Salon
This multi-purpose room and gallery is used for yoga and dance classes, as well as meetings, workshops, exhibition space, receptions and performances. The room is equipped with a concert grand piano, lighting and sound equipment, available for use at an additional fee; please inquire when booking. Surface area: 1075 sq ft / 100m². Capacity: 100 (concert style), 80 (seated around tables), 60 (with staging platforms as risers). $80 per hour (performance); $65 per hour (meeting).
Skylights in the very high ceilings flood this space with natural light. The atrium is a long, narrow space, ideal for receptions in a gallery setting. Surface area: 1960 sq ft / 182 m² Capacity: 150 (standing). $300 (4-hour block minimum, $75 per additional hour).
This multipurpose space is used as a classroom, meeting space with tables & chairs or a small performance space. Surface area: 465 sq ft / 43 m². Capacity: 20 (meeting). $40 per hour.
Usually a drawing & painting room, the wide U-shaped table set up is excellent for small presentations or meetings. Equipped with a double sink and air conditioned. Surface area: 416 sq ft / 40 m². Capacity: 11. $30 per hour.
This long, narrow room accommodates workshops and meetings. Equipped with double sink and air conditioned. Surface area: 422 sq ft / 40 m². Capacity: 11. $30 per hour.
When our nine music studios are not being used by our faculty and students, they are available as practice space. Surface area: approximately 100 sq ft / 10 m². Capacity: varies 3 -15. $30 per hour (with grand piano), $15 per hour (with upright piano).
This room features a sprung wood floor, mirrors and barres on 3 walls. Surface area: 833 sq ft / 77.5 m2. Capacity: 15. $40 per hour.
This self-contained building is an excellent multi-purpose space for meetings and workshops. The room is equipped with its own washroom and sink. Surface area: 586 sq ft / 54 m². $40 per hour.
Extra fees that may apply to a rental include:
Piano tuning - $180
Staff fees - $50/hour in addition to rental fees (applies for any hour in a rental that occur beyond regular operating hours). Damage deposit is required to confirm booking (35% of rental fee or 35% of the value of the equipment to a maximum of $1000)
The following rental equipment is available and must stay on site:
- Stage platforms (12 - 4' x 8'), including back & side rails, steps and legs in three heights (7”, 15”, 20”) - $30/platform
- Staging skirting (20” legs) - $7.50
- Choral risers (3), each accommodate up to 8 people - $40 each
- LCD projector and laptop computer - $25/hour (min 2 hr rental)
- Overhead projector - $10
- Projection screen (7' x 7') - $15
- TV/VCR - $25
- Event tents (10' x 10') - $50
- Portable sound and digital recording system - $800
- Flip chart easel (no paper) - $7.50
