• Mask Creation & Exploration

  Ages 12-14

  In this interdisciplinary course, create your own character mask with plaster then bring it to life! Stretch your imagination to play and explore characters of your own creation and develop a stronger awareness of your own physicality and that of the characters you create. Teacher: Amy Feld

• Stop Motion Animation

  Ages 12-14

  Try your hand at the animation style made popular by The Nightmare before Christmas and Wallace & Gromit! You'll learn techniques of movement, timing and expression to be used in all of the forms of frame-by-frame animation explored: plasticine, paper cut-outs and posable action figures. Then write and shoot your own short film for YouTube! Teacher: Kenten Bowick

• Summer Clay Intensive

  Ages 12-14

  Come and get the feel of working at the potter’s wheel and create several hand-built projects as well. This class is open to both beginner and more experienced potters. Projects will be fired and ready for pick up two weeks after the class end date. Teacher: Vin Arora

• Writing the Zombie Apocalypse

  Ages 12-14

  Zombies have risen from the ground and are invading our reading! Comcis, TV scripts and novels are filled with the walking dead - and the next best seller may be in your imagination! Learn how to create your infected world and put a new spin on an old idea, turning it into a chapbook. Teacher: James McCann

• Summer Voice Workshop

  Ages 11 – 16

  Get singing in this fun group class! Learn vocal basics such as breath support, how to warm up the voice and exercises to build vocal range and tone quality. Work on learning songs, including two-part harmony singing. Throughout the week, you will also receive individual instruction. A short, informal performance for friends and family rounds out this dynamic four-day workshop. Teacher: Leanne Koch

• Creative Mixed-Media Painting

  Ages 12-14

  Find your inner Picasso! In this creative class, learn how to transform primary colours into creative abstract art. Create your own masterpieces by pouring, painting, cutting, tearing, stencilling and pasting onto a variety of mixed materials such as feathers, sand, porous materials and your own created papers. • Digital Photography Teen

  Ages 12-14

  Learn about camera settings, taking portraits, composition and lighting. Each day includes theory, an outdoor photo shoot and project work. Choose your favourite subject and then shoot and create a photo project using photo editing computer software. Bring a camera, memory card, fully charged batteries and your own laptop (Laptops can be rented from us for $20 at the time of registration). Teacher: Samantha Lambert

• Fibre Arts Sampler

  Ages 12-14

  Learn about fibres and their uses while creating beautiful handmade crafts. You'll explore a variety of techniques such as spinning and dyeing, warping and weaving on an inkle loom, weaving on a table loom and wet felting. Teacher: Catherine Dumaine

• Musical Theatre Intensive (FULL DAY!)

  Ages 12-14

  Learn what it takes to be a Triple Threat! Act, sing and dance, and combine these skills to produce a 20-to-30-minute-long musical theatre performance that you’ll bring to the stage. This full-day, week-long course will culminate in a live outdoor performance for friends and family in Place des Arts’ Amphitheatre. Teacher: Shawna Parry

• Jewelry Design Basics

  Ages 12-14
