Have you ever wondered what happens in a music or visual art class? Are you curious about dance or drama? Want to try something new?
Discover all Place des Arts has to offer at our 5th annual Family Open House, and participate in free arts activities, hands-on class demonstrations and informative tours of the facility.
Win fabulous door prizes, including season's tickets to Place des Arts' Faculty Concerts, Family Day and tickets to the Vancouver Opera's production of Lillian Alling. Come and chat with Place des Arts' staff and faculty to find out about our exciting classes and workshops.

The following teachers will be on hand offering free demos and hands-on activities.
Visual Art
David Robinson (Pottery) will be available in the pottery studio demonstrating wheel throwing and handbuilding and answering your questions about the pottery program (preschool to adult classes available).
Kenten Bowick (Cartooning & Animation) will offer several hands-on cartooning activities for all ages.
Catherine Dumaine (Fibre Arts) will demonstrate various felting techniques and will have a loom available for you to try your hand at weaving.
Irene Weisner (Fibre Arts) will present a fibre arts activity.
Amanda Maxwell (Wire Crochet Jewelry) will present hands-on wire crochet jewelry making.
Music
Andi Higgs (Musical Tots) will lead young children from six months to three years through movement and music activities designed to encourage creativity, exploration, language and physical and social development.
Cindy Sletmoen (Music for Young Children) will introduce young children to the piano with Dinosaur "D."
Yurgen Ilaender (Mr. I) (Musical Rainbow) will lead kids in an interactive demonstration of his popular Musical Rainbow program for young children.
Drama
James O'Shea (Instant Theatre) will lead a drama sampler demonstration, including fun theatre games.
Dance
Kristen Pickell (Dance) will lead Hip Hop, Jazz Dance and Song & Dance demonstrations.
