Pottery Studio
The pottery wing contains rooms for hand-building, wheel-throwing and glazing. Pottery classes, a definite favourite, keep our four kilns busy firing up to 5000 pieces each year.
Fibre Arts Studio
The Fibre Arts studio is well equipped with a variety of table and floor looms, and spinning wheels where students learn weaving, basketry, dyeing and many other fabric arts.
Leonore Peyton Salon (formally called the Main Hall)
This multi-purpose room and gallery is used for yoga and dance classes, as well as meetings, workshops, exhibit space, receptions and performances. The room is equipped with a concert grand piano, lighting and sound equipment. Surface area: 1075 sq ft / 100m2. Capacity: 100 (concert style), 80 (seated around tables), 60 (with staging platforms as risers)
Atrium
Skylights in the very high ceilings flood this space with natural light. The atrium is a long, narrow corridor, ideal for receptions in a gallery setting. Surface area: 1960 sq ft / 182 m2 Capacity: 150 (standing)
Room 202
This multipurpose space is used as a classroom or meeting space with tables & chairs, or a small performance space. Surface area: 465 sq ft / 43 m2. Capacity: 16 (meeting)
Room 205
Usually a drawing & painting room, the wide U-shaped table set up is excellent for small presentations or meetings. double sink, air conditioned. Surface area: 416 sq ft / 40 m2. Capacity: 11
Room 206
The long and narrow room accommodates workshops and meetings. Equipped with double sink, air conditioned. Surface area: 422 sq ft / 40 m2. Capacity: 11
Studios (grand piano) 105, 106 210, B01
Studios (upright piano) 105, 204, 206, 207, 208, 209, BO1, B02, BO3
When our studios are not being used by our faculty & students, they are available for music practice. Surface area: approx. 100 sq ft / 10 m2. Capacity: varies 3 -15
Dance Studio
This room features a sprung wood floor, mirrors and barres on 3 walls. Surface area: 833 sq ft / 77.5 m2. Capacity: 15
Renaissance Room
This self-contained building (with washroom and sink) is an excellent multi-purpose space for meetings and workshops. Surface area: 586 sq ft / 54 m2
Place des Arts facilities are available for rental when not in use by our programs and events, both during and outside of regular operating hours.
