Peter GrassoSaturday, November 26, 2016 • 7:30pm

Beckett . . . Bits & Bytes
Featuring Peter Grasso; Directed by Michael Fera

Krapp’s Last Tape is the outrageous title of an outrageous play. Imagine! A feeble, nearly blind and deaf, solitary and half-drunk man, crouching in a squalid room, subsisting on bananas and playing to himself old tape recordings of his own voice. Is this theatre? Yes, it is Beckett!

Vancouver actor and Place des Arts film making instructor Peter Grasso will bring to life the words of playwright Samuel Beckett in Krapp’s Last Tape. The evening will also feature Beckett’s early work, Breath.

A Celebration of Robbie Burns
Scottish-Inspired Supper: 6:00pm
Rosie Carver and Blackthorn Concert 7:30pm

Join us for our fifth year of celebrating Scotland’s National Bard, Robbie Burns! Fiddler and faculty member Rosie Carver with Celtic band Blackthorn and a special guest piper feature the musical traditions of Scotland with a special focus on Burns’ songs.

Come for the concert at 7:30pm or come early at 6pm to enjoy a delicious Scottish-inspired supper and stay on for the concert. From lively jigs and reels to heart-wrenching airs and ballads, you will savour Blackthorn’s rendition of Scottish melodies and the intricately woven harmonies that bring this music to life in a new way, amply flavoured with humour and above all else, fun! At the end of the first set, the guest piper will pipe in the haggis and recite the Address to a Haggis. (Yes, we promise to share a wee sampling of this traditional delicacy with you!)
