Encourage creativity, exploration, language, physical and social development in your tot through a variety of movement and musical activities. Using rhythm sticks, hand drums and shakers, children explore sounds (high/ low, soft/ loud) and develop motor-skill control through working with steady beats. Musical Rainbow provides musicianship training for children aged 3 years to grade 3. Through singing songs, chanting rhymes, playing music games, using xylophones, recorders and other instruments, children learn the principles of music. The program is based on the Kodály philosophy of using songs and rhymes from children’s folk culture, along with elements of Orff and Suzuki methodology. Note reading, writing and music history are taught in the upper levels. The program provides a solid basic understanding of music and may inspire your child to take private instrument lessons at an older age. Class maximum is eight students.

Music for Young Children® (MYC) is a unique Canadian music program for children, with parental participation required. Instruction is provided in keyboard skills, singing, ear training, theory, rhythm, sight reading and composing through dynamic hands-on teaching techniques. The program consists of three levels: Sunshine (4 years), Sunbeams (5-6 years) and Moonbeams (7-9 years). Moonbeams 3 prepares children for the Conservatory Canada Grade 1 Piano and Preliminary Theory examinations. As this is a full-year program, students must start classes in September. Want to play the drums? From holding the sticks to playing your own drum solo, you can learn it all!
