James Hamilton – Guitar, Sitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Sarode, Dilruba, Harmonium, Bass Guitar

James has a Master of Arts in Instrumental Music from Rabindra Bharati University, Calcutta, India and a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology (Ethnomusicology) from Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He has worked extensively as a performing musician, music teacher, lecturer, workshop presenter, music program organizer and author.

James has played classical sitar for 25 years. He is the leader of the world music ensemble Eastern Star and performs with the Vancouver Inter –Cultural Orchestra. He recently performed on mandolin, sitar and guitar at the 2010 Olympics.
